CHARACTERS: Yzak and everyone
LOCATION: All 'round the station!
DATE: Various, who needs time
CONTENT: Post-mission stuff
WARNINGS: will note if any come up!
[ Yzak returns from the mission relatively unscathed - save for some general bumps and bruises (a couple of light, healing ones on his face, don't worry about where they came from (it's all Athrun Zala's fault)), so he has less time to worry about burns healing this time around and more time to prepare and await the next mission. Resting, too, but even resting for Yzak Jule usually entails him doing something while he relaxes (reading, chess, lazy Charter symbol tracing to keep sharp). Otherwise, he's out and about as he always is, barely able to sit still for long and shedding his Ti'shaaz getup to default back to his military uniform. ]
01. The Obligatory One (OPEN)
[ There's something about a Gundam character staring quietly out into space and lamenting on recent events that invokes Meaningful Talks. So if any characters happen to pass by or join him and have the need to talk about things - their recent mission, their overall objective, something else weighing on their mind, this is the prompt for that.
Yzak's always got a lot thoughts about those things, after all. After two wars full of blood, death and anguish where many things weren't what they seemed and too many wrong paths that always appeared perfectly fine to walk down at first, these missions, this situation is hardly something new. ]
02. Some Respite (OPEN)
[ If emotional moments while staring out of windows into space isn't your thing, and you want to follow up with Yzak after the mission in any capacity (checking in on him, met him briefly and want to talk to him more?) he can also be found at various points heading into his room. He's got a few fun things in there. ]
03. Giant Robot Time (OPEN)
[ Yzak doesn't really bother with private simulations unless he has a good reason to. So anyone who happens upon it today will find it occupied and showcasing SPACE and MECHA. They'll be standing on a small holographic platform with a few screens and keyboards, with a full 360 view of the space around them.
For those familiar with Earth and its moon, that much won't be new. What might be new to some are the cluster of 100+ hourglass-shaped space colonies in orbit, as well as the manner of fighting going on in the surrounding area. All sorts of different looking space battleships are spread out, though the nearest ones are two of these. Yzak is currently going over a replay of what he was just immersed in for practice, so the focus of the images being broadcast are focused on this white mobile suit specifically. And there are all sorts of other different types and colors of similar machines out there on the battlefield as well - all roughly in the same ~20 meters size area and donning an equal amount of assorted weapons (and there are some other weird looking machines among them too like this thing). Those focused on the overall scene will see many explosions and flashes of light, as mecha are cut down and battleships destroyed in the near distance. Which is probably a pretty grim sight against the beautiful backdrop of outer space behind it.
Wearing a flight suit with a similar color scheme to his uniform and his helmet tucked under one arm, Yzak is engrossed in going over every move he (and every enemy he comes into contact with) just made in the simulation battle, pausing the replay, moving the platform around to get a better look at an angle, taking notes and adjusting things via the keyboard. ]
I'll change and speed up the timing on that Windam, and add three more reinforcements for it from behind...
04. Quali-tea Time (CLOSED to Hermann)
[ During their mission on Braccia, Yzak and Sabriel talked about her newly aquired (and pretty fuckin' cool) tea set and how maybe one day they'd see who wanted to drop by for a little chill out tea time to show it off and relax a bit, maybe even talk and get to know one another some more. Yzak's never really been to a proper tea party himself, but the idea wasn't bad from his point of view (especially since when Yzak says 'not bad' that means he likes it). He knew, for example. Hermann had good taste in that regard, so he'd probably be down with that! Of course, once they're back on the station, the ever astute Yzak realizes he hasn't seen Hermann out and about. So one quiet evening, he decides to reach out to him via the earpieces, opting to just go audio. ]
Doctor?
05. Wildcard (OPEN)

at least then he could walk with his back straight and his head high. now...?
now, he slumps his shoulder against the wall, panting, sweating. it's not that far from the infirmary, is it? or is it... he can't rightly place himself in this place - he hasn't even roamed it all with his own two feet to know! so more's the frustration that makes him grit his teeth and squeeze his eyes shut.
unbeknownst to him, some of that agitation radiates out of him, making the atmosphere nearby a little too uncomfortable for peaceful reflection. it's that kind of aura that hospitals give off - that latent anxiety and urgency in the air that seems in abject defiance to the stretches of silence within it.
not something Blue wants to exude, but some things can't be controlled even by psionics.]

Still, he's also someone very reactive and very much always in his own head about things, so when he feels something different, something off, he doesn't ignore it. So he breaks his concentration on whatever was on his mind (a mish-mash of the new orb information, how the last mission ended, wondering about the commander, home, his regret, his unwaveringness despite all of those concerns) and shoots a fast glance over his shoulder. ]
Blue?
[ Despite not seeing him since the heist, he doesn't look very surprised since he had more than enough faith in his abilities that Blue would be kept safe for the remainder of it after he was attacked. Still, he was hurt, and he's already basically on the verge of toppling over on a good day.
He moves to approach him. ]
—Hey, what the hell are you doing all the way out here, in that state?
no subject
...Yzak. [an easy enough name to utter. anything more, though, and Blue has to save his breath.]
The longer I am off my feet...the less I can use them.
no subject
[ The bluntness of his tone might make that sound insulting to anybody else who can't get a read on others like Blue can, but it's more of an observation, tinged with an overall concern about this guy's well-being. ]
Where are you going, anyway?
no subject
I was told...there are bunking quarters.
I don't want to linger in the infirmary.

Or so he hopes.]
Ah. Um, yes? Is everything alright?
no subject
[ Especially since he had been on his mind more than once. ]

[Exactly that: Busy. Cooped up in his room. Everyone is trying their best to recover after the mission. Surely there is nothing out of the ordinary with that.]

Well, Sabriel and I discussed making use of her newly acquired tea set by inviting some others over who would be interested in experiencing its specific enhancements. And I suppose the gathering has the extra perk of conversation. So naturally, you came to mind.
no subject
I see. Well, I’d be more than happy to pop on over the next time you all decide to have another round of tea together. It’d be nice to have something a little normal around here that isn’t your usual boisterous hustle and bustle.

Hello again, Major. Mind if I join you?
[He notes the military uniform right away. It might not be one from his world but the cut of it does have a military vibe. As for Kaidan, he swapped his own uniform out for some casual pants and a comfortable shirt]
no subject
[ He returns the nod politely. ] It's fine, I don't mind.
[ After he says that, though, he falls back to Kaidan's greeting to him. ]
Major of the 'Alliance Navy', you said, right? What Alliance would that be, exactly?
[ "Alliance" is a broad term, and it's not like Yzak is expecting this guy to be part of the Earth Alliance from his world. But he's still curious. ]
no subject
What about you?
no subject
ZAFT. It's the military of us Coordinators who live on PLANT - which are space colonies. [ Which Kaidan already sounds familiar with, thankfully. ] And specifically not affiliated with the Earth Alliance there. We've been through two wars against them.

These are mobile suits? And that's what the Earth looks like from outside?
[In some ways, they really do look like giant suits of armor. But most of Sabriel's attention is on the Earth- the continents don't match up with the maps she'd seen in school, but-]
Does it really look like that?
no subject
[ He speaks as he stares at his own GOUF, and then follows Sabriel's gaze at her follow-up question. ]
The Earth, you mean? That's what it looks like.
You sound kind of surprised about that.
no subject
I've never seen it like that- I mean, there are globes at home, but- no one's been to space, in the Old Kingdom or Ancelstierre. So this isn't something I ever thought I'd see, even in a simulation.
no subject
[ Yzak's unit not only looks different from the other ones he's programmed to surround him and the two nearby ships they're working alongside, that are all the same color (green, though there is one among them that stands out with its dark grey color) and generally the same style/type (with the only differences being the weapon packs that the ZAKUS are able to equip), but its white coloring stands out as well. ]
I guess a globe is nothing in comparison to the real thing. But then again, I'm also used to this view as opposed to the one you'd get from down on Earth looking out here.
no subject
[They're clearly all around the same size, but painted in different colors- although Sabriel suspects that is more a matter of aesthetics than identifying who's part of which army, given the vast differences in design.]
Well. You're used to space, and magic that seems strange to you is something I work with every day.

obnoxiously leaps into prompt 3
I didn't know it could do this!
Man, right out of a Japanese movie.
[Hope you weren't looking for peace and quiet while you were prompting your mobile suits for this simulation, dude. Then again, with some of that explode-y stuff in the background, maybe this isn't as pleasant as Newt thought it'd be going in...
Whelp! He pops out at Yzak, standing over his shoulder to try and look at what the lad's type-type-typing into his little keyboard.]
Whatcha' up do, man?
no subject
Oh— fuck, damn it!
[ The sound doesn't last long as he quickly fixes it, rereading something on the screen over to make sure it's right.
And then once it's fixed he turns his attention to Newton. He's scowling, shocking nobody (because it's his natural reaction to this brand of excitement), but it softens a little once he responds. ]
The simulations can be pretty in-depth when you need it to be. And to answer your question, the orb mission simulations aren't the only thing I'm keeping brushed up on by a long shot. I'm not home right now, and it's not like my skills would erode that much even when I'm gone ... but, just because I'm not currently on the front lines back there doesn't mean I'm going to stop working to hone my skills as a pilot even more.
no subject
[He's so rude. Not even sorry over here, this guy. Instead he smiles brightly in response to Yzak's expression softening even a fraction. Victory.]
That's freaking awesome, though, being able to do all that piloting business in the simulations; you can't really replicate the way Drifting works here, so it's not like our pilots would get a very accurate feel. Always wanted to try it, though. Like, how a real pilot would, not a cobbled-together Pons system.
no subject
We have some pretty similar simulations back home for mobile suit combat training. And since this room has the additional ability to use one's memory to build something up, it helps a great deal.
Plus, once you know some basics for setting a scenario like this up, it's just a numbers game to adjust the difficulty. Not that I'm adjusting in any other direction but up.
But, I get what you mean. Even with these simulations ... actually launching, actually fighting is a completely different feeling.
no subject
[He loves it, judging from his big stupid grin; keep up the good work.
Hovering there next to Yzak for a moment, he says, very innocently:]
... Can I sit it the cool simulated robot cockpit?
