CHARACTERS: Yzak and everyone
LOCATION: All 'round the station!
DATE: Various, who needs time
CONTENT: Post-mission stuff
WARNINGS: will note if any come up!
[ Yzak returns from the mission relatively unscathed - save for some general bumps and bruises (a couple of light, healing ones on his face, don't worry about where they came from (it's all Athrun Zala's fault)), so he has less time to worry about burns healing this time around and more time to prepare and await the next mission. Resting, too, but even resting for Yzak Jule usually entails him doing something while he relaxes (reading, chess, lazy Charter symbol tracing to keep sharp). Otherwise, he's out and about as he always is, barely able to sit still for long and shedding his Ti'shaaz getup to default back to his military uniform. ]
01. The Obligatory One (OPEN)
[ There's something about a Gundam character staring quietly out into space and lamenting on recent events that invokes Meaningful Talks. So if any characters happen to pass by or join him and have the need to talk about things - their recent mission, their overall objective, something else weighing on their mind, this is the prompt for that.
Yzak's always got a lot thoughts about those things, after all. After two wars full of blood, death and anguish where many things weren't what they seemed and too many wrong paths that always appeared perfectly fine to walk down at first, these missions, this situation is hardly something new. ]
02. Some Respite (OPEN)
[ If emotional moments while staring out of windows into space isn't your thing, and you want to follow up with Yzak after the mission in any capacity (checking in on him, met him briefly and want to talk to him more?) he can also be found at various points heading into his room. He's got a few fun things in there. ]
03. Giant Robot Time (OPEN)
[ Yzak doesn't really bother with private simulations unless he has a good reason to. So anyone who happens upon it today will find it occupied and showcasing SPACE and MECHA. They'll be standing on a small holographic platform with a few screens and keyboards, with a full 360 view of the space around them.
For those familiar with Earth and its moon, that much won't be new. What might be new to some are the cluster of 100+ hourglass-shaped space colonies in orbit, as well as the manner of fighting going on in the surrounding area. All sorts of different looking space battleships are spread out, though the nearest ones are two of these. Yzak is currently going over a replay of what he was just immersed in for practice, so the focus of the images being broadcast are focused on this white mobile suit specifically. And there are all sorts of other different types and colors of similar machines out there on the battlefield as well - all roughly in the same ~20 meters size area and donning an equal amount of assorted weapons (and there are some other weird looking machines among them too like this thing). Those focused on the overall scene will see many explosions and flashes of light, as mecha are cut down and battleships destroyed in the near distance. Which is probably a pretty grim sight against the beautiful backdrop of outer space behind it.
Wearing a flight suit with a similar color scheme to his uniform and his helmet tucked under one arm, Yzak is engrossed in going over every move he (and every enemy he comes into contact with) just made in the simulation battle, pausing the replay, moving the platform around to get a better look at an angle, taking notes and adjusting things via the keyboard. ]
I'll change and speed up the timing on that Windam, and add three more reinforcements for it from behind...
04. Quali-tea Time (CLOSED to Hermann)
[ During their mission on Braccia, Yzak and Sabriel talked about her newly aquired (and pretty fuckin' cool) tea set and how maybe one day they'd see who wanted to drop by for a little chill out tea time to show it off and relax a bit, maybe even talk and get to know one another some more. Yzak's never really been to a proper tea party himself, but the idea wasn't bad from his point of view (especially since when Yzak says 'not bad' that means he likes it). He knew, for example. Hermann had good taste in that regard, so he'd probably be down with that! Of course, once they're back on the station, the ever astute Yzak realizes he hasn't seen Hermann out and about. So one quiet evening, he decides to reach out to him via the earpieces, opting to just go audio. ]
Doctor?
05. Wildcard (OPEN)
[ I'm literally down to roll with anything. Have an idea? Give it to me! ]

I was told...there are bunking quarters.
I don't want to linger in the infirmary.
no subject
He blinks, though, at that. ]
You were told...?
You mean you didn't find a place to stay before the mission?
no subject
[just that infernal medical wing. and he's sick of it. he may not be able to escape the ever-present AI possessing this station, but if he can at least open his eyes and see something other than examination equipment, perhaps a little morale can improve.
Blue shifts, pressing his hand on the wall and pushing himself away from it to start to move again.]
no subject
Well, if you need a hand to the rooms, I can help you out.
[ He sees Blue push himself from the wall, knows he's trying his best on his own and not sure if he prefers the help here. But, well, here he is offering it! ]
no subject
[psionics and all. it may have been less an issue handling him when he was barely conscious and in no position to be seemingly intrusive, right?]
no subject
[ He says that almost stubbornly. He offered to help, and he intends to keep his word! He's a man of honor! ]
Now come on.
[ As he moves closer to offer his shoulder to lean on, Yzak says nothing of the potential discomfort, though. It exists. The constant, strange feeling of being so very seen so very easily. Even if beneath that there's that knowledge, an admittance even, that even without powers like Blue's, he's pretty readable if anyone paid the right attention to him. ]
no subject
What was it you were doing...before I arrived just now?
no subject
[ He lets him do that, leading the way easily and barely hindered by the extra weight (as a strapping Coordinator). ]
Not much. I was planning to head back to my room soon, anyway. The view here sucks.
[ Even the teases of faint, distant light doesn't do much. Not compared to the life he lives in space where sometimes, if one stops to stare long enough, they can't help but appreciate its beauty. ]
no subject
his eyes briefly flit toward the window they're walking past.]
I don't like it, either. There's no...easy way to get one's bearings.
Even if we're not meant to, there's still a want to...
no subject
Even if the sight of stars and galaxies out there is similar, the patterns, the locations, they're foreign enough that it's almost off-putting.
[ He's not even a fan of the Earth, he thinks. But there's still something ... odd, about not simply seeing it there, so close, even from PLANT. Be it on a peaceful night at home, looking out his window, or as a backdrop to a battle with the people who primarily live on it. ]
no subject
Do you believe...you will see a planet similar to what you've known appear in that window one day?
no subject
[ The question is something that Yzak hadn't really considered himself, though. So now he's also thinking about that. ]
But if that changes and we do end up moving the location of the station ... who knows? [ He gives a shrug of his free shoulder. ] It had to have been built somewhere, by people from somewhere - maybe we'll get an idea of what that somewhere is. I just know that I will see the planet I'm used to seeing soon enough. As much as I don't actually like being down on it. Once the objective here is completed.
[ He not only sounds and feels assured of that first thing, but despite the questions and layers of unsureness that bubble beneath their entire objective, Yzak's still clearly determined to see it through. ]
no subject
[there's consolation in confidence outside of himself, whether Blue thinks to realize it or not. better someone has an answer, as opposed to the great wealth of uncertainties Blue harbors.
he stows these notions away to ruminate on later, grateful for now that they gave him something other than pain to focus on.
more than that: the planet I'm used to...what is it, he wonders.]
Would you tell me about it? That planet of yours...
no subject
[ He's silent for a moment, trying to come up with something off the top of his head. ]
It's— Earth? That's what humans named it. [ But people exist here who've never even heard of that. Ugh, what else can he say? There's a weird disconnect here, considering his experiences with it. ] I'm not sure what you really want to know about it. I guess I've read up on enough history to know some random shit?
But I've only ever been down there on business. Either during the war so all I did there was fight, or once or twice for political related things. And my experiences there in those instances weren't exactly fun. The deserts they have down there there are terrible.
no subject
that shouldn't be surprising, given the conflicts he and his people are in now. unsurprising...but still saddening. it's far from the peaceful vision of a safe, nurturing planet he and his kind dream and search for.]
Humans in your universe...are leaving the Earth behind in that way, too...
no subject
So there's not too many other places to go. And the Earth is still habitable despite its current state. [ Which is just that, habitable, but not without severe environmental issues through the years. Humans, am I right? ] Though there were times it came close to being largely uninhabitable at all.
no subject
[it sounds...a lot like the humans of old, back before the SD system. back before the Earth was desecrated and cast aside. Blue wonders if such patterns are inevitable in humans, or if it is simply coincidence.
it's hard to believe in coincidences.]
I still...want to see it one day. Earth...Terra. Even if it's...not the one I was ever meant to see.
no subject
Well, I'm not sure I can offer much of it, even through the simulation room here. Not compared to people who live on Earth. I've only ever really been to our bases down there, and my time in any surrounding cities or towns was brief enough that I didn't get to see much of them.
Technically when we infiltrated Orb, we got to see more of there because we had to blend in. And that wasn't as bad, I guess. Not as bad as the desert.
Is there a specific reason you want to see it? Or is it just because you never have? Assuming as much since you mentioned leaving it behind.
no subject
There is...a dream I have. Of a beautiful, blue planet where humanity began. It's...the same dream everyone else has. It's something given to us, instilled in us from our birth. Humans, Mu...we all want to see it. Our homeland...
I don't know where it is. No one...no one but those closest to the heart of the government know. But we've been searching for it...for a long time.
no subject
But Blue mentioned leaving the Earth behind, too. Maybe leaving the planet for an extended period of time would give it a chance to heal. ]
Where in the universe are you from now, exactly?
... not that I assume I'm going to hear many names that are familiar to me. But, galaxies and stars all have names and positions. So if any of those would happen to match up, it would be pretty easy to set you up in the right direction.
no subject
We called it Nazca.
no subject
[ Though a planet sounds better to be on than a battleship. ]
Neither of those names are familiar, though. [ As expected. ] I could throw out random names of stars and sectors of space we're aware of, but even despite our own lack of properly leaving our own galaxy, there are way too many. Maybe I can procure a book somewhere instead...
no subject
as his expression sobers:] Wouldn't such a thing...be a waste of your time? If we aren't even from the same universe...
no subject
Ugh ... saying that is still... [ So weird? Multiverses is still such a huge thing to wrap one's head around. ]
My point is! It's worth a try!
no subject
the scope of empathy in others unlike him...it's more vast than he often believed.
after a few quiet steps:] ...Yes. Yes it is.
[he doesn't have the heart to speak to the futility - to remark that there'd be no chance to deliver that information to those who could use it. that Blue's life there is over.]
