01 🗡 SUNLIGHT ROOM

[ andy claimed a bed in the dorms, but it doesn't mean she always uses it. she prefers napping and sleeping in the sunlight room, because even if she knows it probably isn't real, it feels real enough to trick her for a little while. it's definitely her favorite and most frequented spot on board. she's got a supply of blankets and booze tucked near her tree, which is all she really needs. ]

[ sometimes she is sleeping, sometimes she's just laying there in the grass, staring up at the sky. her labrys is always nearby, whether she's with her blanket nest near one of the trees she's claimed for herself or hanging out with her feet in the stream. sometimes she just... wanders, wishing it was bigger. ]

[ she sits by the brook, munching on a big bowl of cereal while the water swims by her feet. there's a sealed bottle of what she hopes is close enough to vodka in the grass by her shoes, and her pants are rolled up to her knees. ] It's not that cold, in case you're wondering.

[ or maybe you just... find her in her blanket burrito, dead asleep. one of the nice things about being immortal is she doesn't have to worry about anyone killing her while she's resting. she has no wounds to heal from via braccia, she's just very tired. all the time. ]

02 🗡 KITCHEN GREMLIN

[ just because andy is rather old doesn't mean she's got any sort of finesse in the kitchen. she knows how to cook, of course, but she doesn't really... care to most of the time. especially when she's had a millennium of nicky's food and nicky's cooking and he enjoys taking over there. so when she eats on ximilia, she eats more like a goblin. ]

[ it's not like there's a sun cycle, and her body is struggling a little bit to get into a set schedule when she can't follow a nature based pattern. so she ends up in the kitchen scrounging for food at all hours of the day and night, running into all sorts of people. ]

[ catch her sitting on the countertop eating pasta - but it's just the plain noodles, freshly boiled, still in the pot which she is holding one handed with an oven mitt, the other hand making use of her fork. it looks close enough to spaghetti that she deemed it acceptable and she probably made a little too much for one person, but again: she is simply eating it out of the pot. it might not be shareable. ]

[ there's very little that isn't acceptable to her for food at this point. andromache the scythian will eat anything, and they don't have what she needs to make good baklava. ]

03 🗡 TRAINING ROOM

[ andy isn't in here training. she doesn't need any training. but she is here to watch and check out what other people are capable of, to see how and where they'll all be useful the next time around. she already knows there are quite a few skilled people aboard, but she's curious about the variety. she carries no weapons on her here, not worried about needing any. plenty of people have already offered their services to the whole group, and she hasn't quite decided if she intends to be among those numbers. ]

[ still, she knows some people have seen what she can do by now, whether via the fighting rings or via the heist itself. mostly she is munching on what she thinks are some kind of potato chips with a half empty bottle of presumably wine beside, idly observing the people who come in and out like some kind of weirdo. she has to get her entertainment somehow. ]

[ but she will clap if she is particularly impressed by something! cheers. ]

[Daisy doesn't answer verbally, just gives a vague shrug in response. A spy never shares their secrets.]

Sounds like a lot of work, can imagine it's hard to get breaks often.

[Daisy nods towards the pot in her hands.]

How's the pasta?

[oiorpata]

[ daisy is definitely a spy. that's the biggest conclusion andy is coming away with. ]

Surprisingly no. If I want a break, I just take one. [ she just came off a break, regretted the job, and is now considering retirement forever as soon as they get copley. ]

[ she shoves another forkful in her mouth. ] It's fine. I've definitely had better, but I wasn't really thinking about the taste. How's your cereal?

[Daisy honestly has no idea what she'd do if she wasn't constantly working. SHIELD gave her a purpose, and she's just not ready to give that up. Everyone else on the team is so ready to be done with this and it hurts. Even after her talk with Mack, she's terrified to be alone.]

So much for a lull.

[What with the insane last mission and everything.]

Stale.

[But she still ate it anyway.]

What's life like where you're from?

[Daisy asks, realizing how silly that sounds she laughs.]

I've met way too many people here who've come from vastly different places.

I don't mind too much. [ it's a different kind of break, one from the expectations of humanity at home. ]

Sometimes stale is still edible. [ and she's eaten some really stale shit in her life. ]

It's not a weird question, at least here. I'm from Earth, so if you are too, it's presumably similar.

[Daisy walks over to the sink after grabbing a glass to fill it with water.]

Does your version of Earth have aliens and people with super powers?

[oiorpata]

No.

[ her healing isn't a superpower! ]

Though I'm learning that's apparently more common for other Earths. Clearly yours has superpowers. [ she gestures at the braces on daisy's wrists with her fork. ]

[It most certainly is!

Daisy looks down at her wrist after taking a sip of her water, almost forgetting about them.]

Really didn't think I'd have to hold up a building when we were in Braccia.

[oiorpata]

And I thought what you did in the water room was impressive.

[ she'd heard a little about that, the way the building remained standing. she hadn't been particularly concerned for herself on that front, but in retrospect it could have been really bad. ]

Did it hurt you?

You were pretty impressive there too.

[Daisy's smile fades a little at her question, brushing it off with a shrug.]

I've had worse.

[To the point that she almost went paralyzed...]

It's all that aforementioned training. [ she doesn't want to say it wasn't the hardest thing she's ever done, but it was not the hardest thing she's ever done. ]

[ andy hums, because that's not a no. ]

What do the braces do for it? Stabilize?

[Daisy smiles at her joke. She's funny, which isn't necessarily surprising. They didn't really get to know each other during that last mission.]

Basically.

Got a bunch of hairline fractures, so--

[Daisy lifts her arms, waving them sarcastically.]

Downside to my powers.

Ouch. [ just because andy can heal doesn't mean she can't feel pain! ]

That happen every time you use them? Or just for the really big building breaker moments?

Not always. I usually have these gauntlets that help with all of that, but I didn't have them for the last mission.

[Daisy smiles sadly.]

Didn't really think I'd have to hold up a building.

[oiorpata]

Lesson learned to carry them with you from here on out?

[ she could say something about how it's good that she saved so many lives but... andy hadn't cared about the gang members inside the building. ]

Well. You helped get us all out, so thanks. [ even though she would have walked away fine in the end herself. ]

I did have them on the first mission, but some asshole guard took them.

Newton is making me new ones, which is just--

[Daisy shakes her head, still in disbelief with how kind people have been around here.

She's not dumb though, she knows something will happen that will break all of that kindness. Everyone here is desperate to fix their mistakes.]

It wasn't just me.

[Despite doing this whole 'hero' thing for a few years now, Daisy still doesn't know how to react to those kinds of comments. It's just easier for her to brush it off.]

Maybe you can use that machine in the armory to make some back ups. [ she made herself an axe, before her labrys appeared on board. ]

[ the deferral of credit isn't surprising, and andy doesn't necessarily disagree. she isn't individualistic by any means, even if she herself has taken on individual tasks in the past, simply because he was able to when others could not. ]

I know. Things like this are rarely the concentrated effort of just one person. So think of it like thank you for your part in it, rather than all of it, if that helps.

[Not that Daisy knew all of the tech that went into how Newt or Fitz had made them. Something like that was definitely better left to an expert.

Smiling sheepishly at Andy's thanks, Daisy almost blushes.]

Sorry, it's just--

I don't hear that very often.

[And it's not like she expects it. She just got used to being feared for her powers, thanks to the media.]

It works, at least on regular weapons. I've used it already myself for that. [ literally one of the first things she did. ]

[ andy notes daisy's expression, but she doesn't... push or tease, as easy as she thinks it would be. ]

Are your powers a secret? [ it's the gentlest assumption, though she would not be surprised to hear something worse. ]

[Daisy’s caught off guard by that question, and it takes her a second to realize why she may think that.]

Oh, no.

[She smiles sadly,]

If anything they’re too publicly well known back home.

[oiorpata]

[ her expression turns sympathetic, and maybe a little understanding. ]

Let me guess. They fear it and you? Or want to use you? [ or both. ]

[Daisy laughs bitterly at her very correct assumption.]

Definitely both.

[Pushing her hair out of her face, Daisy shrugs it off.]

Anyway, kind of used to it at this point. At least it means bad guys sometimes think twice before trying anything around me.

That's one perk, yeah.

Are powers like yours common in your world? [ it could go either way. rare and feared or common and tiresome, at least in the public eye. and andy has a very poor opinion of the public eye. ]

[Daisy leaves out the part about her partially being responsible for that happening...]

But I wouldn't say we're that common.

[oiorpata]

[ it's hard to imagine something like that being so public. it sounds like a nightmare to her. ]

Probably makes it hard for your spywork.
