Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a Stone
CHARACTERS: Edward Elric, Open
LOCATION: Around the Station
DATE: Second half of October
CONTENT: Catch-all post mission winding down at the station
WARNINGS: Possible mentions of death?
[Ed can be found in various places around the ship. Probably most common would be the kitchen because he is a bottomless pit of a teenage boy. When he does remember to eat and isn't getting distracted training with sparring with others or just keeping himself from getting too rusty. Burning off that tension and restless energy. That lingering guilt he feels in this taking so long already. As he keeps trying to distract himself in keeping busy in missing Al. They've never been apart this long. And he's trying not to think on that one area back when they were going after the orb. That one area where he saw those he knew were dead. But it hadn't mattered in the moment. These worlds, the magic and abilities people had. Who was to say it wasn't possible somehow? For that to be a possibility? For him to get to apologize. For him to see them again. See her smile again just like he had wanted all those years ago.
If he isn't there, he is likely in the Sunlight Room. Probably either alternately napping, possibly with a book spread open on his face or hunched over and hopefully not drooling on it....or he is actually reading it. Probably either something to do with space in him still researching in not being as familiar with this sort of thing, or he's looking up about alchemy, and possibly making notes on if there's anything in this book that might be new to him. Which would be rare if it did happen at all. But at least he has dragged himself to get some (fake) sunlight rather than studying in his room. He might also occasionally be glancing at his open pocketwatch, which if anyone gets close enough to get a better look without him immediately noticing, they'll see a date inside. October 3rd. And 'Don't Forget' etched in as well, with the Amestrian military emblem on the back as he closes it.
Or he might be in the lab, transmuting some of the metal there in making some basic weapons for people to take on the next mission just in case, or to train and spar with. His will be.....uniquely designed though in having skulls or some such with the daggers for example, or swords. Perhaps the spear he makes has a dragon on it. He might also be working on attempting to figure transmuting some basic parts for his auto-mail, at least, the plating on it, as best he can attempt. In the inevitable moment he destroys it, he figures it would be something at least? He's. Trying? But it is not exactly like he's experienced in dealing with making auto-mail. Just in using it. And how painful it is each time to reattach it to the nerves.
Otherwise, after hearing about Halloween from Peter, he might try distract himself by getting into the spirit of things. Transmuting some decorations. Namely skulls or skeletons or the like if anyone asks and wants that sort of thing in the lead up to the holiday. It's his first time celebrating so he's curious about it and this sort of thing, this decor definitely seems his Aesthetic.]

[He isn't exactly hiding it in opening up sometimes to some people here. Even then he's seeing no reason not to talk about it, at least with the basics. That people understand his motivations for getting these orbs and all. Even then he still can't help keeping some things closer to the chest but that is mostly with things relating to the homunculi and all given he was told to keep quiet and he isn't sure if anyone from home might show up. He remembers what happened with Hughes. He doesn't want a repeat of people here trying to help and getting killed for it.]

[Ed admits. He isn't lying about it, isn't hiding it. If people ask. He raises his right arm, glancing to the auto-mail prosthetic.]
My leg was taken, his whole body was. I got his soul back, bound it to the suit of armor. That's how my arm was taken.
[There's always a catch. Always a cost. Ed's always one to wonder on what the catch is. The toll, the price. What he is willing to pay.]
