I. Seeing for the First Time, a Second Time
[ Finn's got a headache that slowly wants to transition into a migraine but it's like the best migraine ever if there is such a thing. It's caused by the sudden amount of light and information and everything that his eyes are suddenly getting. Because he can see now. After being blind for a few weeks, he can see.
In a way, it's almost like just became blind all over again considering how much it's knocked him off-balance. He'd just managed to get used to navigating with the Force and now--
Well, now he's kind of gawking. Finn's already gotten Blue and James seen to in the infirmary, and now he's just sort of wandering around. (He's going to go back soon, though, since he didn't really want to leave them in the first place.) What Finn should maybe do is go to his room, rest his eyes, slowly crawl back into the world, but that's obviously not what he's doing.
It's just. Everything. Everything is so pretty and shiny, and how did he forget all of these little things? The floor is so polished that it's practically reflective. There are tiny little lights on the doors that blink bright colors when they sense movement. And don't even get him started on the view outside the windows.
He spends a lot of time in the sunlight room for the next few days and can be found squinting at the fake flowers and fake trees and fake sky. There's a dopey grin on his face, even if he's trying to find tells that prove these aren't real.
During the station's evening hours, however, he's usually in the common living area. Finn's found a window with a couch in front of it and usually just sits there in the dark, watching the outside. There's not much to see if you've seen this view a million times like he has, but it reminds him of the rare glimpses of space he'd get during his childhood. Weirdly, it took all this to remember why he treasured those sights so much.
... For anyone that argued with him back in Braccia, though, this is absolutely not proof that he wasn't fine being blind. Because he was. It was fine. Everything was fine. This is just... better. ]

[ True to his word, Finn can be found in the training room during the station's morning hours. This is where he goes for his own training, anyway, so it's not like he's going out of his way to wait on someone that may not appear.
But if they do appear, they'll be met with a bright smile and a lot of questions. After the whole "how are you? how was your morning? did you sleep okay?" since he's in such good spirits lately, he'll actually ask the real questions. What do you want to learn? What do you already know? Have you ever been in a fight before? Have you ever used a weapon before? Etc.
If you're a seasoned fighter and just here to spar, he's down with that, too. Everyone needs to keep their skills sharp.
Want to learn self-defense? Well, the first lesson is to know how to fall properly, because you're going to fall a lot. You should also know how to take a punch, how to give a good punch, how to break defenses, how to disarm your opponent, how to handle the weapon you just disarmed them of, all of that good stuff.
Want to learn how to use a firearm? Be prepared for a lecture before you even so much as see a gun. Don't point it at people, always assume it's ready to fire, don't point it at people, keep your finger off the trigger unless you're shooting it, and, for Force sake, don't point it at people. If he trusts you enough after The Lecture, then he'll let you give it a go with every single safety precaution he can think of, but don't expect to use one on your first day with him.
>> ooc. He'll be doing this for the entirety of their downtime, so feel free to start a thread at any point of the learning process you prefer. ]

It's the same size of the common living area. Obviously, it's made to look larger... There's another room back where we came, the simulation room. You can create any simulation you want in there. Sometimes, the station does it for us.
That one creeps me, to be honest. For some reason, this one doesn't. Not as much. I guess it depends on the illusion.

Hm.
( it's a soft, neutral sound, meant to convey consideration without commitment. he could share what he knows. what he expects to be happening, and how the mind can be broken to tolerate illusions — even welcome them, after a time. very likely, what unsettles him about the other room is its malleability, contrasted against what he imagines is the consistency of this one.
but that would, undoubtedly, lead to further questions. how he knows those things, and why. instead, he briefly checks the area map and then orients towards the exit that will lead them to the armory. )
I imagine it's a comfort to most. The station can be — bleak.

[ No matter how awful the truth, it has to be faced. But staring at white/chrome walls all the time can make a person lose it, he gets that. So Finn sort of imagines this room less like an illusion and more like an... interactive painting. If that makes sense.
Finn follows after Itachi easily, straight through the meadow. ]
Anyway, we already have a large variety of weapons in stock. Sometimes, the replicator won't work. It needs materials, and things specific to people's homes don't usually work around here.
[ Like a lightsaber. ]
ahhhh so sorry this notif never made it to me!!
what is reality, but a thing experienced by the mind? what you perceive is not always true. )
I was intending to make a sword. I know the dimensions I require and will be satisfied with the standard metal.
you're okay!! ♥
Then there shouldn't be any problems. Here-
[ The door swishes open, showing off another contrast between the station and this illusion. But where as they're walking from nature and peace and into... well, a fully stocked armory. Firearms, bows, swords, just about everything is here in a basic sort of sense.
But Finn gestures to the replicator on the far side, a big machine that takes up almost all of the wall space. Considering that Itachi has dimensions in mind, he's not going to try showcasing the available options. He gets it. He has his own blasters, too. ]
and then i went on vacation oop
the bows get a sidelong glance — they stir up the bones of an old memory — before he drifts to stand before the replicator. he has spent sufficient time figuring out the communicators, et al that it is perhaps less daunting than it might have otherwise been — but he does not yet move to begin the process.
instead: )
What level of complexity is it capable of?
( the sword is simple. kunai likewise — he does not need much. but he prefers to know as much as possible about something before he chooses to act. )
pff you're still good lol
It can make firearms easily. [ He points to a wall lined with blasters and guns, rifles, pistols, even a bazooka tucked away from someone that was just bored one day. To Itachi, they probably don't appear to be much other than some sort of mechanized weapon. ]
From what I understand, so long as you know what you want and have the schematics in your head, it'll make that to your specifications. All it needs are the materials and instructions.
<3!
If the weapons here are free use and not intended for or belonging to anyone in particular, I can repurpose an existing sword for its materials.
( since. it's not like he just carries around steel ingots, what do you think he is, a bioware protagonist? but he does look to finn to ensure he isn't about to take anyone's particular weapon down off the wall. )

[ Finn moves over to a rack holding several swords, all very similar (if not identical) in their simple design. ]
These don't really belong to anyone. We just made them if we need them. There are some weapons in here that do belong to people, though, so it's usually best to check in.

(description of magical machine doing its work go brrr)
what results is a chokutō of a modest length, lacking a cross-guard, in a simple saya without ornamentation or flourish. the sword is pulled from its sheath for only a brief inspection — the blade is straight and shining — before he stows it again.
to finn — )
Thank you. I appreciate your assistance.
lmao go BRRR
Of course. You're welcome.
Um, if you ever want to spar with it or something, I'm usually available. I'm still learning how to use blades in general but I'm not so bad in a fight.

It would be an honour, Finn-san.
( having seen finn at work without a sword, he can tell the man has good instincts and very likely significant training of his own. itachi has been... cautious, thus far, about revealing too much of his own capabilities, but it is certainly easier to explain a familiarity with swords than the use of his genjutsu. )
I do not presume to know more than you on the matter, but I would be pleased to teach you what I do know given that our styles likely differ.

Thank you. I'm very new to it, so I'm sure you know more than me. I look forward to it.

Now, please excuse me. I have taken enough of your time.
( finn gets a final nod, and then — unless stopped — itachi will turn to leave. notably, he chooses one of the doors that doesn't lead to the sunshine room. )
