It's probably the more polite thing to say about it.

Because... human biotics are treated badly. We're considered freaks. If we're lucky, we can turn around and do something good with our powers. I teach my students not to hate themselves or their biotics. I think we have a long way to go before most of us can go as far as thinking of it as a gift.
