[ There's another moment of drawn out silence. Then, eventually, more rustling as Eleven shifts, crawling out of the low entrance to the fort until her head pokes out, unruly mop of brown hair pushed back from her face impatiently as she looks at Peter. There's still something wary in her face. The rest of her is drowning in a leather jacket that is very clearly adult sized and much too large on her small frame. If he has caught sight of Bucky on the station, he might recognize the jacket as belonging to that very man. Or perhaps not anymore. And perhaps Peter will even spot something on her neck, like faded bruising, a day or two old. ]

I'm 14.

[ She hesitates, and then: ]

I'm sorry. About your mama. And that bad men stole you. Did you run away, too?

Already a lady, then. [ Peter smiles when she shows up, but makes no further movement. He doesn't want to scare Eleven, and being wary of strangers is also not a bad trait per se. The jacket doesn't go unnoticed, but he doesn't have enough context to tell if she came to the station with it or someone gave it to her. ]

Thank you, that's kind of you to say. Some weren't so bad in the long run, but it was hard at first. I tried to run away a few times and I always got caught. There weren't any of places where I could go on my own, the galaxy wasn't safe, and I didn't have my own spaceship. I did, eventually, when I grew up, and then I met some good friends that helped me out.

[ He's not going into specific about how said friends first tried to kidnap him and kill him, and they all landed their asses in jail. ]

It's good to have people you can trust.
