At first we didn't really have much of a choice - when the first generation of Coordinators began to boom on Earth and hostilities grew between them and the Naturals, many of them sought out the research and production facilities that had begun to be constructed just outside in space. From there, more were built and they were essentially transformed into what's now our primary home.
