[she just gives a slight nod at his question, she isn't the least bit surprised by his reaction though] I was born and raised on a space station after the nuclear apocalypse happened. For most of my life growing up, it was pretty all processed and in grown space food— nothing at all like the real food you can get here either. [so basically a whole lot of fake food that didn't taste all that great, everything sucked a lot and that isn't even going into dealing with rationing either]

More recently in coming down to Earth and learning it was safe to be down there and not toxic from the radiation— we just ate whatever we could hunt and gather from our surroundings with resources being as limited as they were.
