[It started with one person dragged from the fog, then another, then a third, until Finn's legs burned with exertion from running in and out of the melee and bodily dragging whoever he could convince into the fresh air with him. Some came easier then others, but more often than not they came through the fog with plenty of fight in them. They were the ones Finn sought out most eagerly, terrified of what they might do when left alone in a pea soup fog surrounded by monsters with the voices of friends.
Finn's next trip into the fog takes him deeper than before. Some small part of him wonders if it's over, if everyone either found their way out or the fog itself was starting to dissipate.
Distantly, the shouts of fighting interrupt that optimistic train of thought. Oh, well.]

[Finn stops, blinking hard, as if the illusions suddenly grabbed hold of him as well. Kazuma stood with perfect form, eyes fixed razor sharp on his target. Opposite him, Steve, looking entirely out of place in front of the markedly better trained fighter. To Finn, it was like coming across the world's most reckless lamb poised in front of a striking tiger. Without so much as considering what he'd do when he got there, Finn takes off toward them.]
Steve! Kazuma! Steve!! [His second shout of Steve's name comes out ragged, true terror coloring his voice as Kazuma starts his advance. The original plan was out. Even with adreneline pumping in Finn's ears, he knew throwing himself between them would only get him killed too.
There was only one thing to do.]

[With all the strength of his momentum (and apologetic battle cry), Finn hurls himself into Steve's side, tackling him to the ground with his entire weight.]
