CW| Hairline Fractures
She manages to get changed into the a clean pair of clothes, but didn’t brush her wet hair out because she couldn’t stand the pain anymore. The adrenaline having finally worn off, she heads to the infirmary to see what kind of supplies they had. She slows to a stop when she spots Sam, smiling tiredly in his direction. The smile fades when she spots the bruise on his cheek and scratches on his face.]
You okay? That looks painful.
[The sleeves of her shirt are pushed up as much as she could manage, exposing the bruises all up and down her arms. She already knows what’s wrong, hairline fractures. Daisy starts looking through cabinets, hoping to find bone healing pills like SHIELD had.]

You gonna roll in here with your arms lookin' like that and tell me my face looks hurt, Marigold?
[ Amusement wars with exasperation, but Sam beckons her closer. ]
C'mere. Lemme take care of that.
no subject
Is this going to be a thing? Calling me flowers that aren't my name?
[She doesn't actually mind, in fact, it's kind of funny. Not that she has the energy to really show how much it amuses her. Closing one of the cabinets she was looking through, Daisy walks over to where he is and takes a seat.]
Not sure there's much you can do.
[Daisy explains, lifting her arms gingerly, she takes a look at them herself.]
It's a bunch of hairline fractures.
[She's not a doctor, but--]
I've had this happen before, from using my powers without my gauntlets. Almost shattered every bone in my body.
[Daisy speaks about it as if that wasn't at all concerning.]

[ Welcome to your new reality, Daisy. Better get used to it. Sam's as stubborn as they get - and telling him not to do something is a surefire way to get him to double down. ]
And you didn't have your gauntlets down there. Gotcha...
[ He remembers it from seeing her about. Sam had avoided looking at people too closely, but there was nothing of the sort on her arms back in Yuryeong, not that he'd noticed at least. ]
Here. Harline fractures are a bitch to heal - which it sounds like you got some experience with. Still... we got some ice packs here, that'll help. You gotta keep them elevated, too. And I probably don't have to tell you to take it easy on your arms. Rest and all that.
no subject
Nope. The guards took them from me when I was brought to the infirmary. Guess they looked like some kind of weapon.
[Frowning when he goes over what she’s done a thousand times while on the run a while back, Daisy’s just pissed she’s been put in this situation again. This time it wasn’t even her fault.]
Not always easy when we’re fighting for our lives, but, as long as we’re taking a break from that—
I’ll try.
[Daisy winces as she reaches for the ice pack, just gripping it hurts.]
You look like you could use some rest too.
no subject
You get 'em back at least?
[ 'cause otherwise this sounds like she won't have a lot of fun going forwards. ]
Here's to hoping next mission's gonna be a little less fight and flight related. Maybe just an actual nice party. I could dig it. And don't worry. I'm just wrapping up here and then I'll hit the hay.
[ He will absolutely not hit the hay. ]

[And what did most of the damage to her arms. Look, she tried to avoid using her powers as much as she could out there, but sometimes it was necessary.]
Yeah--
Somehow I doubt that's gonna happen.
[At least from her experience, missions usually end in some kind of fight. Verbally or physically. She doesn't quite believe that, but maybe it's because she knows it's going to be tough to relax herself after everything that's happened.]
How're you doing? Really.
no subject
Doesn't mean he'll be unkind about it. So he gives her a small quirk of the lips, genuine and warm - he's good at seeming open even when he chooses not to open up. ]
Honestly? Tired and sore. Same as the rest of us after all that mess. Nothing a date with my pillow can't fix. You talk to the science brigade aboard about helping you fix up replacement gauntlets? Or ask Viveca if she can get you some instead of, well... I don't know, lasagna or whatever treat she's getting you?
no subject
[She assumes he might know who that is.]
In a few days, once we've all had the chance to settle down. I can survive without them for now.
[Daisy looks up at him, a little surprised at his second suggestion.]
You trust her?
no subject
She seems damn genuine, but... she ain't a person, right? So... no, not really. If she's a program, she's as good as the person who programmed her.
[ And even the best of them can trip up on that, if Ultron's anything to go by. Viveca might not be anything as sinister as that - but the flipside of that means she might be just what someone else programmed. And that might include seeming genuine even when she isn't, and being unable to share certain things the crew wanna know. ]
Survive mean it's gonna be hell and you're just tryna handle it, or you'll be alright for a few days?
no subject
Yeah. I think I'll just stick to what we have here for now.
[Smiling tiredly when he asks her whether or not she can survive without her gauntlets, Daisy wants to shrug but that'll just aggravate her injuries even more.]
As long as I don't use my powers, it can't get worse.
[...]
Probably.
no subject
[ Sam purses his lips, letting the topic of Viveca go for now, trying to think of a way to help her until she can get replacement gauntlets. ]
Let's get you setup with splints. Least we can do is make sure the fractures you already got don't get worse until you get new gauntlets. And I better now catch you vibrating your bones even more to hell until then. Let's call that doctor's orders and ignore that I ain't a doctor.
no subject
[She doesn't even acknowledge the name he's calling her. Maybe he'll stop, eventually.
Hopefully.]
I'll try my best.
[She says it jokingly, but really, she can't make promises like that. Not when at any second, things can go wrong again.]
Thanks, Sam. I really appreciate this.
