Little Lazy Log Post
CHARACTERS: Yzak, others
LOCATION: The station

CONTENT: Chillin
WARNINGS: Will note!
The Generic OTA
[ That mission sure was something. Yzak isn't one of the crew who ends up in the infirmary after it's all over, having only gained a couple of cuts and bruises himself. Not a bad result from a kaiju attack, honestly. But it was still pretty bullshit, and he went through it all without the genetic enhancements he's used to having that gives him an edge. So he takes it a bit easy upon [ a. their return ], and can be found in his room relaxing (or at this point, Blue's because he's there just as much). As a Gundam character, he is naturally always drawn to the [ b. hallways ] with spacious windows that look out into the dark space faintly flecked with distant stars, where he silently stands with hands braced against the sill, gazing out.
Yzak knows some people who are laid up in the [ c. infirmary ], so drops by there to check in. He swings by the [ d. kitchen ] to make some tea or grab a bite to eat, and goes to indulge in those either in the [ e. sunlight room ] as he sits beneath one of the trees, or the [ f. common area ] where he's reading a book. ]
Wildcard and OOC
Feel free to use a prompt to tweak and run with anything! Especially if we had any plans. I'm on vacation so this is short and lazy but please hit me up at
gaignun, Tara#1768 or PM me here. I'll also find time to put up any custom starters if someone needs one! Always open to new and multiple tag ins!

Yzak. Hi.
[ He greets him with a small smile, pausing where he's preparing himself a sandwich and fruit salad. ]
How are you?
no subject
At the moment he's boiling some water to make some tea, and already seems to have made himself a small bite to eat, some sort of grilled meat mixed in with some rice. He peers over to Jim at the greeting, offering a polite nod in place of a smile (because when does anyone see Yzak smile tbh). ]
Hey.
[ A couple of beats, as he regards the other man curiously at the question. He recalls spotting him on the teleporter when they had returned and not in the greatest of states. ]
I'm fine, all things considered. [ Not just the kaiju attack, but before that had all went down... before they needed to focus on the murder during their last mission, it had almost been a nice trip. ] How are you feeling?
no subject
I'm alright. That was... a lot, but at least we worked through it quickly.
[ Which is more than can be said for previous missions, and they did manage to stop "Newt" and bring both him and the orb back safely. ]
Are you leaving, or can I offer some company to eat?
no subject
[ As ever, he has that hint of proudness when he speaks. Though it tapers off a little when he continues. ]
At least in the midst of this new bullshit I had a nice place to sleep for a change. Sedorum after Badrock was awful where much appreciated comfort is concerned.
[ Yzak looks thoughtfully over his shoulder, and then shrugs. Blue is sleeping like usual, and he can brew and bring some more tea back to him shortly. ]
I don't particularly have to leave right now. So it's fine. [ Once he's got all of his shit prepped and together, he'll the the initiative to go and take a seat at one of the tables. ]

Common area | Chess
Trying to read or watch a movie has proven useless, he was unable to concentrate, and he's so desperate for a distraction that when he spots a chess set on one of the tables he is drawn to it immediately. The thing is...he's got no idea how to play chess, he's only seen people do it in the movie and not often.
If Yzak walks in on him, or if he is already there and glances towards Peter, he will see him with the chess pieces scattered all over the table. The Guardian is gathering them together in groups by their shape, not caring if they are black or white pieces, and then trying to figure out where to go from here. ]
no subject
What he finds instead is Peter, and he pauses when he enters the room, lifting an eyebrow and watching him in silence for a few moments.
He's not sitting across from anybody else, so he doesn't seem to be playing. Perhaps he just did and his opponent took their leave? Because Peter appears to be cleaning up based on the way he's collecting those pieces. ]
Cleaning up?
no subject
What? Uh, no, there's nothing to clean. I was just...[ Peter looks down at the pieces, fidgets with one of the rooks, then up at Yzak. ] Wasting time I guess. I don't know how to play.
no subject
Some way to waste time, though.
[ He closes the distance between them, peering down at the pieces. ]
Why are you wasting time at all?

infirmary
She spots Yzak on her way out. Clara waves without giving her usual sort of smile, an almost awkward looking gesture. It seems as if she wants to say something but then thinks better of it, hand dropping back down to her side as she moves to walk away. It's better right now if she doesn't open her mouth to speak. She isn't sure what words will come out.]
no subject
He's not surprised to see Clara looking how she looks when he's passing through. She's essentially Newt's bestie, so all of this is probably hard on her. Seeing someone you care about so much go through something agonizing and feeling as though you can't do much for them ... well. Yzak very clearly gets that. ]
Clara. [ It's a greeting to her in turn, but the tone of it isn't final. He too moves when she does, intending not to let that be all. ]
How are you doing? [ The small inclination of his head and the sharp, inquisitive look in his blue eyes are obvious; he's not asking for a simple 'fine' in reply. ]
no subject
I'm not sure how I'm doing, if I'm being honest. A lot happened this last mission. And I haven't begun to process all of it just yet.
[Pausing, she rubs her hands up and down along her arms.]
I keep feeling like I can't trust anyone, but I know that there are still plenty of people here that I can rely on.
[Him included.]
no subject
Better than bullshitting a reply and being obvious about it. [ His way of saying thank you for the honesty, Clara.
Still, Yzak gazes at her curiously. He recalls old words that still echo in his mind: it's difficult to understand the thoughts and feeling hidden inside one's heart. ]

hallways
She's on her way to take a moment to connect to those grounding thoughts, those warm memories of her friends she's left at home, when she has to pause to allow herself to take in the frankly unexpected sight of someone doing the same thing. Hopefully he won't mind an interruption as she steps up to the window as well, a few feet between them to allow him his privacy should he want to keep it.]
Most of the people I've seen here tend to avoid looking out at all the emptiness. You must be used to it too.
no subject
First his eyes turn to her with a look of acknowledgement and greeting, before they turn back to the view (or lack thereof) outside of the window. ]
I'm not used to seeing so little, actually. My own view of space where I live is much more spectacular.
But this is still the closest thing, despite the lack of a view.
no subject
It's comforting though, isn't it? To see something familiar and be able to hold onto the fact that at least space is the same no matter where you are in it.
no subject
He furrows his brow, deeply considering whether or not comforting is the word he'd use. Is the familiarity comforting? Or does it make him more oddly homesick? And the homesickness he feels from time to time, even that sensation feels complicated now, when Yzak considers returning home ... home alone, anyway. Or home with no memory of his time here.
The corners of his mouth dip into a frown as he tries to shake off that train of thought, lest his head starts going in circles. ]
Maybe insomuch that it's mostly similar. But there are such differences between the universes that we all come from, that I know it can't be exactly the same as my own. Nothing here is. [ Athrun and Cagalli are gone, now, after all. And they were from his home. ]
Since it's the closest thing outside of the simulation room, though, I can't really complain.
You said 'too', though. How is it familiar or comforting to you, exactly?

Infirmary
Her injuries had been pretty severe, even if they're covered by bandages and a hospital gown. Her face is still rather pale, and she definitely hasn't been given a mirror. Otherwise her hair wouldn't look like a rats nest, and the smeared eyeliner would've been cleaned up.
Turning her head when the curtain to her 'room' opens, Daisy smiles tiredly at Yazak, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes.]
Hey.
no subject
He politely does not bring up her hair or her face. But it's not as though he's really focused on or noting that specifically anyway. Her physical state is way more important. ]
Hey.
[ He returns the greeting. ]
You look like shit. How are you feeling?
no subject
Smiling tiredly at his comment on her appearance, she can’t even be offended by it.]
Like shit. Looks like you made it out of there in one piece, at least.
[Daisy has noticed the bumps and bruises though…]
You know, mostly.

He wouldn't hesitate to shove food at someone who was looking for something to eat though. He glanced behind him as he heard a person enter despite the sound of sizzling and boiling coming from his work. He nodded in greeting as he recognized Yzak-]
Hey.
[-then returned to his job at hand. A few more minutes and there would be a meal for several ready thanks to the generous portions his cooking always created.]

Zhao. Hello.
[ Yzak politely returns the nod, and then steps up toward him to get a better look of whatever it is that he's preparing. Because he's not really shy and when he's curious he'll just straight up ask. ]
That smells pretty good. What are you making?
no subject
[He responded with a slight smirk. It was clear he was being facetious though it wasn't obvious why. He was, in fact, remembering his friends and what they said about his cooking and in particular words said about this exact dish.]
You like chili shrimp?

post-newt cleansing
Thank you. [in regard to accepting some juice. he's sat up in bed, cozy, hair still unkempt from heavy sleep.
after a sip:] Sleep...was more restful. The atmosphere in the station is better.
I bet you can tell...even without psionics.
no subject
So only after it was all over, with all parties accounted for did Yzak allow himself to settle down. As much as he was able to, anyway. Since after that Blue was not only exhausted, but he had to return to his visits to the infirmary in preparation for the next mission.
In those times where the other slumbered and Yzak busied himself elsewhere is when he returned to many of the thoughts in his mind. About what Viveca told him, about the orbs and Blue... perhaps ... depending on what awaits them in the next mission. But until then, every time Blue reaches for his hand and he feels the lack of warmth in it, every time he has his arms around him or his eyes fall on his bared body, it's a harsh reminder of how quickly the clock is ticking down.
He escorts Blue back to his room to rest after it's time to leave the infirmary behind. He drops in often, he keeps him company, he gets him what he needs. Whether Blue is asleep or awake, Yzak remains, his presence close so Blue can feel it even in slumber. ]
Yeah. [ He inclines his head as he takes a seat on the edge of the bed after handing him the cup. He subtly notes how cute his bedhead looks even though he's seen it so many times already. ]
It's not hard to miss. After all of the shit we had to go through, one thing directly after the other.
[ It'll be nice to relax a little, now, he thinks. It was quite unfair that the downtime on the station itself they always look forward to was even infringed upon! His eyes fall on Blue's face. ]
I can tell you look much better rested now, too. [ He tips his chin up. ] Good! I'm glad those assholes didn't end up attacking you like they did the last time.
no subject
with a nod:] With all that support...there was no way I could succumb. [his mouth twitches a crooked smile.] And I wasn't...even the one most at risk of being bitten.
