（ hm. actually, that does give him an idea. it is not something he would consider necessary of himself, given that his chakra control is what it is, but it would be interesting to keep tabs on one's innate levels, and how much of a drain certain techniques are in exacting terms and not just an uncanny instinct for such things. ）

Chakra. That's, like... Energy points in your body or whatever, right? I've heard about that kind of thing, but mostly from this girl I dated for a little while; something she used in yoga and meditation and all that fancy stuff.

One would refrain from going on a mission were one ill. You are too much a liability to your fellows.

I suspect there are some similarities to what you know, but most I have spoken with from your world consider chakra to be theoretical. What I speak of is the energy that allows us to manipulate elements and perform jutsu. （ he holds up a hand, and there's a spark of a reddish gold energy that coalesces against his skin. ） This.

I wish I could say I wouldn't go on a mission while sick, but... y'know. Gotta finish our personal goals. [With a sigh, he leans back in his chair.] The apocalypse made time off real tricky, even for the flu.

[But anyway!!!! He leans very close to the hand in question; you'd think he'd know basic safety about these things, but nah. Instead he adjusts his glasses, eyes full of distracted, burning curiosity.]

You think we could try to register it with some stuff in the lab? I've never tried to measure chakra before; I don't even know if my world really has it...

I doubt they do. Chakra was bestowed upon my people by a goddess from another world nearly a thousand years ago now — I am descended from one of her sons. There are others here with similar powers, but none with an analogous origin story.
