Daisy’s Room
[A lot of Daisy’s time the first few days back is spent in her room. Just having a bed again was nice. After having to get used to sleeping on a damp, hard floor. Startling at the sound of a knock on the door, Daisy turns her head to see if her roommate is here before getting up slower than she would’ve liked.]
Coming.
[Between not having much to eat in the last few weeks, and all of the fighting they had done. Daisy is feeling weaker than she would ever admit. Opening the door, Daisy smiles tiredly.]
Hey. What’s up?
[She totally wasn’t just asleep. Nope. Very much awake. There are dark circles under her eyes and wounds that have been patched up. Most of them are hidden, but a few can be seen on her face and hands.]
Kitchen
[When she isn’t sleeping, she can be found in the kitchen, heating up something simple. Zoning out as she waits for the food to finish up. Daisy turns when she hears footsteps approaching only to realize she never set a timer.]
Shit.
[Grabbing an oven mitt, she pulls out the chicken nuggets she had been cooking for herself, and they’re more or less burnt.]
Think they’ll be edible with enough ketchup?
Infirmary
[Daisy might not have any medical training, but even she knows she can’t keep the same bandages on until her wounds heal. Having just gotten out of the shower, Daisy makes her way back to the infirmary to grab a few supplies. She doesn’t know the drawers and cabinets like the people who work in here do however. So she can’t be as quick to get in and out of here as she’d like to be.]
Common Room
[Sprawled out on one of the couches reading a random book from the shelf, Daisy’s more or less just staring at the book, zoned out, when someone tries to catch her attention. Snapping out of it, she looks up in their direction.]
Hey.
[Pulling her feet in to give them room to sit, Daisy scoots up, so she’s not so slouched over.]
How are you doing?
[She’s looking better than she had the other day, but she’s still banged up pretty good.]
Training Room
[Finally feeling more like herself, Daisy wastes no time in getting back to training. For a while, she’s by herself in here. Taking out of her frustrations on a punching bag while blasting music, it feels good to be back in her old routine.
Suddenly her music lowers considerably, and she turns to see someone’s lowered it,]
Sorry, what?
[She assumes they were trying to say something to her and she just hadn’t heard them anyway.]
Wildcard

[She looks towards one of the cabinets to hide the fact that she's struggling not to laugh.]
Are the bandages over here?
no subject
One over.
What else are you looking for while you're here?
no subject
[Sure enough they’re in there, Daisy grabs a box of the butterfly kind. She grabs some gauze and medical tape too.]
You guys have any ice packs in here?
no subject
[ In some, other cabinet, or shelf, whatever. ]
How many are you looking for?
no subject
[She managed to hold out until they got back to the station, but she’s exhausted. Even just coming here has left her wanting to go back to bed. Leaning heavily against the counter after grabbing one of the ice packs, she breaks it open to activate it and places it on her shoulder.
The same shoulder he had managed to temporarily help her with when they were still on the mission.]
no subject
[ There's a lightness to the scolding, because he knows that things were rough back there.
Yzak steps up a little closer to her. ]
You look like shit. [ That bedside manner, immaculate. ] So let me get you back to your room.
no subject
[Yes, she fucked it up again.
He clearly won't let his concern go, but Daisy still stubbornly tries to brush it off.]
My room isn't far from here.
no subject
[ But as it stands! She is being stubborn!
But in ways of stubbornness, Yzak himself is a master in his own right. ]
That's good.
[ He speaks as he steps over to her side, where the good shoulder is. And he puts an arm out toward her as an invite for her to lean on him, or even simply put a hand on his shoulder for support. ]
Less of a trip for me.
no subject
You really don’t have to do this.

[Daisy stops herself, because is there really any point in pretending that she’s not in pain?]
I just need a few days.
no subject
Proper rest and treatment for an injury or ailment isn't a sign of weakness. It's an even stupider idea to act like you can lick it if it's worse than you pretend it is. Not just for you, either. It could mean life or death during a mission when it matters the most.
We have doctors and those learning from those doctors here for a reason.
no subject
I appreciate the concern but, working while injured isn't a new thing for me. I was taught how to push back the pain to focus on the mission well before coming here.
no subject
But we're not actively on a mission right now, so recovery should be your priority. Otherwise it'll come back to bite not only you in the ass, but the rest of us, too!
Now quit being stubborn! And allow yourself to rely on someone on your team that you'd want to rely on you if this were the other way around.
no subject
That’s exactly what I’m doing.
[She lifts said supplies as a way of proof. Keeping her tone light as she opens her door,]
I let you walk me here, does that not count for something?
no subject
[ If someone wasn't being so STUBBORN!! ]
Now you're admittedly someone I'd feel more inclined to keep an eye on, during a mission. Because I don't want to see you push yourself and end up hurt, or worse.
no subject
[Fine? Yeah, he'd definitely believe that.]
I appreciate it, but you don't need to worry about me.
no subject
But he doesn't. Not outloud, anymore, anyway. ]
Anyway, do you require anything else? Be it simply some company or perhaps some tea.
no subject
No I'll be okay but, thank you. For your help.
