I'm not keeping you from dinner with Jim, am I?

[She teases as he helps her finish plating their food. They've just taken the time to make a nice cooked meal, one that's just for them and not for everyone else. They spend so much time taking care of all the others here, that it's nice to just indulge in themselves every so often.

She's set up a small table in the corner of the kitchen, so they don't have to deal with the chaos of the communal eating area. It's late enough that the kitchen will likely remain empty for a while, perfect for quiet conversation.

Which is good, because she has something on her mind she'd like to bring up and ask. It's not often Clara seeks out advice, but she trusts his thoughts and opinions enough to hear what he has to say. Not that she's planning on leaping right into asking him for his help, not when they're meant to be taking a break from playing the part of station parents.]

No, no, ( he assures her with a soft smile and a wink, covering the dish of greens after serving them up, ) Jim can fend for himself, I'm sure. Grab the wine, please?

( Leonard nods at the bottle he let breathe as they were finishing up– they deserve the indulgence, dammit –and carries their plates to the table Clara thoughtfully set up for them. He'll pull her chair out for her, ensuring she's seated before he slides onto his with a gentle sigh.

He was delighted when she asked him to have dinner with her– spending time with Clara is no hardship at all, quite the opposite in fact. )

[She makes a sound confirming she heard him, and goes to grab the wine. It's brought back to the table and she offers him a smile as she takes her seat. He's a gentleman, even when it's a casual and quiet dinner.]

I'd be swooning right now, if things were different.

[She teases him, laughing softly as she settles in to eat.]

I can't remember the last time I had a quiet, lovely dinner like this.
