Those I've met have been rather kind. Something unexpected for most places.

( some took kindly to strangers but many places were wary or unwelcoming to them )

It seems what bonds us all together isn't only where we are. But a kindness.

Most people here are kind.

[Clara can agree on that much, but it feels wrong to not give a little warning.]

But the orbs, they do more than just bind us here with a promise to change our regret. They ask us to do things on missions. And sometimes those personal goals...well, they make people do things that aren't always kind.

[She removes the kettle from the stove top, and pours the hot water over the tea bags that are inside the two cups.]

It's a good idea to find a core group you can trust, no matter what may happen.

Is it not possible that those goals may challenge us in other ways, to be the best of ourselves?

( moiraine isn't foolish enough to think that they won't ask cruel things of people but it's a choice whether to do them, to fulfil them.

[She doesn't answer right away. Instead she grabs a box of little microwaveable brownies to heat up. She opens them and tosses them into the microwave, motioning for Moiraine to come over so she can show how to use the appliance.]

I want to believe in the best of every single one of us.

[Finally, she feels better able to address the whole issue she had brought up. Her tone is cautious, because she doesn't want to influence any relationships that a new arrival may already have.]

But sometimes, people here surprise me with what they're capable of doing. Particularly over the network. [There's a laugh as she taps at her earpiece, just in case Moiraine hasn't managed to use that just yet.]

Many people, even the ones we believe we know well, can surprise us.

( there were things that people always kept hidden, even from those they loved. and situations could easily change motivations )

But it doesn't mean that people aren't worth knowing or hoping for.

Oh, every single person here is worth knowing. Don't doubt that, not for a second.

[Not wanting to be negative, she simply drops the matter there, as she passes a still seeping teacup and a microwaved brownie over in Moiraine's direction.]

Just be wary of personal goals, is all I'm warning.
