[ marta ducks her head at his compliment, her earlier boldness shying away in the face of someone else's more natural flair. ]

You're starting to sound more and more like a camp counselor, you know?

[ she tosses the jacket aside for now, and it makes a loud crinkley noise as she takes a tentative seat on a small velvet ottoman. ]

Is the dress-up for letting off steam too? Or is there a more sinister purpose?

Well, I was a teacher once, so I guess that tracks. I always wanted to work at Camp KEEP or some kid's camp like that, but then I remember I don't know a thing about kids and should probably stick to stuck-up scientists having midlife crises, plural.

[Which is rich coming from an overgrown child with multiple crises, but whatever. He drags some fancy-schmancy scarf around his shoulders, sitting into a ridiculously campy pose next to her.]

How can you call this sinister?

[Hang on, let him move his arms into another dramatic model pose.]

[ he cuts an impressive figure, for sure; somewhere between vogue and elton john, or a blasphemous, bastard child of the two. it puts a bright smile on marta's face, easily finding the levity in him that she'd been so desperately seeking out these past few days. ]

Next mission we need to play spy on, remind me to turn to you. No one would ever suspect me then.

[He makes a face at her that he doesn't at all mean.]

Excuse you! Are you implying I'm that transparent?

I've been on tons of missions already, I'll have you know; I've totally kicked ass at every single one! Not a single hiccup in any of 'em.

[... It's a good thing he doesn't also throw up when he lies.]

[ before he can get too carried away by his indignation, marta calmly reaches over to give his nose a light tap. ]

I meant for you to dress me, conejito. You'd be helping me.

[ she shakes her head at him before putting on a mock-thoughtful look. ]

What's that saying about someone protesting too much?

[He immediately calms, like an ornery pup picked up by the scruff.

Keep doubting me, eichkatze — but I'm a pro. I totally don't protest too much, either! And protesting now about protesting too much doesn't count. [He protests a LOT.] I can do any role people ask me to do; I'm super flexible.
