That's the part you're getting offended about? [ Eyebrows up high, Jim huffs and shakes his head. ] That's a little sexist of you, you know. Nothing wrong with being compared to a lady.

[ Like, you wish, buddy. ]

[ He's an anime Gundam man, they're always somehow prettier than most ladies. ]

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it! Some of my top pilots are women! I just said I'm not one!

[ He waggles his eyebrows and winks. Having way too much fun teasing Yzak. ]

[ Why does Yzak keep running into people Like This? ]

I do! But I'm still not protesting too much!

[ Jim will soon come to realize that 'too much' is basically the baseline for him. ]

[winscenario]

[ Yzak must be a magnet for teasing types. ]

No? I think we'll have to disagree on that one. You sound inordinately indignant about a few harmless twigs.

[coordination]

I'm not that indignant! I just don't want to do anything under them and that's what everyone keeps bringing up! [ And they're also EVERYWHERE! ]

[winscenario]

Probably because they know you'll react that way, [ He points out. It is really kind of amusing, in case Yzak doesn't realize that. ]

[coordination]

You didn't!

[ There's an unspoken 'but now you do, fuck.' ]

[winscenario]

That's true, I didn't.

[ He won't be too mean about it, he promises. ]

Where were you headed, anyway?

[coordination]

To drop these off in my room now that I'm finished in the simulation room.

[ He shrugs the shoulder of the arm he's holding the books/notes under to draw attention. ]

Charter magic honing.

Can I walk with you?

[ So they can talk a little, beyond Jim just teasing Yzak. ]

What's charter magic?

[coordination]

Hah? [ Yzak sends him a look, but doesn't dismiss or anything. ] Fine, if you want.

And, [ He continues and he begins to move again. ] it's the magic foreign to the world in which Sabriel resides. I told you on Braccia, magic doesn't exist where I'm from. But she has the ability to pass on her skills to others, so I've been learning it since our return from Gyeongje.

[winscenario]

[ Jim nods and follows after Yzak, glad to share these few minutes to just talk, no further teasing for the time being. ]

Ah. Yes, I knew some people were learning with her. Honestly, I didn't think just anyone could learn magic, figured you'd have to be born with that kind of sensitivity. Shows you how much I know about it, huh, [ He smiles. ] So she's teaching you healing magic, too?

[coordination]

One thing assured about being here is that if you start off not knowing much about something, you'll learn.

[ The fact that magic was nothing but fiction to him once and now he's using it ... it still blows his a mind a little, when he thinks about it. ]

I've learned how to use healing spells. Those were some of the first things I aimed to commit to memory, since it's very useful in a pinch and can hold somebody over until further aid can be given.

[winscenario]

Here and anywhere, I would say, [ Jim shoots back. ] You can learn just about anything you set your mind to, barring physical limitations.

[ He still can't picture himself learning magic, it just feels so... foreign to him, so distant. But he has been curious, admittedly. ]

A very useful skill to have, here. The more of us who can do that, the better our chances. Braccia's shown us that these missions can become pretty close calls.

[coordination]

I'm trained in some basic first aid, too. But the addition of the Charter spell for it is a welcome alternative to have.

[ Tracing out a Charter mark could come in handy if, or some reason, one could not move well or much otherwise. ]

But as you said, we'll, unfortunately, definitely be needing it for future missions.

[winscenario]

[ It is unfortunate, indeed. That any of them get injured during these missions, that sometimes those injuries are even severe enough to require more than just basic first aid. ]

How've been doing with those? The missions. Been giving you a rough time?

[coordination]

I wouldn't say rough. [ He tips his chin up some. ] These have been like any other sort of mission I've been on. A challenge for sure, with many things to adapt to, figure out and overcome, but I fully intend to accomplish those things, no matter what awaits in the future!

Not to mention, having a diverse team willing to lend support at any time it's needed is the best kind of encouragement to have when working toward that goal.

[winscenario]

[ Jim's expression settles into more of a frown at Yzak's answer. It's clear there's a lot there that he doesn't like or agree with, but he doesn't feel like getting into that right now.

One thing he does agree on, at least. ]

There are a number of people here I feel comfortable trusting, that's true.
