Not that Minimus himself would reach the tower, but he knows he has teammates who he can help from afar. Once the place was clear of the orb, he hopes, then Ahkbarl could explore it safely.

The next thing to figure out was whether to keep him as prisoner or let him free. They had someone who was sensitive to the orb's power - a huge risk if Minimus were to enter the tower - but a bandit is one of the best guides for the desert. On the other hand, he could ask his own comrades for answers...though there is the risk that he returns for revenge.
