[Chishiya watches him eat and thinks he might be familiar with some of what Arisu is thinking and feeling in this moment. The relief of accepting that he really wasn’t in Borderland now. He remembers feeling it himself, though it took him longer. It wasn’t until his second mission, on Naephus which was so much like a fully populated Tokyo, that he really let himself feel it and start to relax.
He smiles faintly, as Arisu closes his eyes and some of the tension starts to melt out of his body.
He's about to turn his attention to the omelette and let Arisu have the pancakes to himself when Arisu opens his eyes and offers to share. Chishiya pauses before he cuts into the omelette, and then shifts his fork to cut into the stack of pancakes instead.
He takes a bite and sighs thoughtfully. They are the perfect consistency for American style pancakes, fluffy and soft, their sweetness intensified by the syrup's maple flavor.]
They’re good. [He agrees after he swallows his bite and licks the syrup from his lips.] Better with strawberries, though.
