He's curious about the laser pointer (not that he knows what that is, it probably registers as a strange sort of pen) but not enough to fiddle with it, just in case.

When she went through that door, did he see what happened to the badge afterward? Did it go in a pocket, or in a purse, or anywhere particular?

And as she comes back out, does she have it in hand again or anywhere visible, like she might need it to come back outside also? (Plus if so, again, where does it get put after?)

All that aside, he's content to just watch, though he writes a little note on his notepad for when she does get back in, and he'll hold it near the dog treats. It just reads, Your dog?

Because if yes, good. If no, probably good to know who has the guard dog that needs bribing every now and then!
