It's mixed news. The high of we can subsides under the weight of circumstance, but he's ready for the drop. They work in magic, not miracles, however easy it is to mistake the two in the dark.
Unless they find another solution, the choice they have is simple: more lives saved or a safer place for those lives to go. It's not going to be an easy call.
"Sabriel suggested a world the crew visited before, one she thinks might suit the Hivawei. As far as I know she has something from that place, if a piece of it would make it any easier to guide the journey, but if finding our way there across the multiverse at the expense of so much power still isn't guaranteed..."
A hint of cloud crosses his face, brow pinching slightly as he lines up all of their options, all the questions that need asking to set them up with a way forward.
"A small front team of crew checking the suitability of the worlds they pass through in the course of extending our path toward other universes could be the best way to cover both bases. More doors and a shorter distance would mean more time and more people passing through them which would be the ideal if we do find somewhere close, but we can't risk stranding these people in a world they can't settle due to a lack of research, and we can't afford to waste time or power carving branching paths the Hivawei won't ultimately walk. If we start now, with any luck we'll still have time to open the route across universes even if we don't find anywhere in between."
