[OPEN] MOVIE NIGHT TIME

CHARACTERS: Everyone!
LOCATION: Mess Hall
DATE: Post-mission, September 17th-ish
CONTENT: The gang enjoys some downtime.
WARNINGS: Nothing! Mark your threads if they get spicy.

Another post-mission, another movie night! C'mon, you guys know we can't go missing any, right? Even if it's a little — um. Less packaged on the ship than usual. The sudden losses of familiar faces isn't easy, but Newton figures none of their friends who have gone on would want them to sit around in the dark, feeling sad and losing sleep. So he collects what he's learned from a particular network post and gets to work: contacts Viveca about supplies, sets up the mess hall for one messy night of food and movies and things to unwind. And so it goes: a day or two after the mission, everyone's ushered out (if possible, anyway) for another one of these get-togethers! As always, there are pillows and blankets for those who'd like to relax, but plenty for those who want something a little more active.

For the record, there is also... a new poster added to the room. One that will likely be moved to the communal area after movie night is over.

The movies are a hodge-podge, and have no real cohesion from one to the next. They almost seem completely randomized, if you didn't realize they'd been listed as some of the orber's favorite films. You've Got Mail, Shrek 2, and Clueless are played first, through the day — and then Seven Samurai and Godzilla vs. Mothra, to round out the night. Some of you may be snoring by the time you get to the end. After all, five movies in a row is enough to knock anyone out! But the movies aren't the only things everyone's been left to.

There's also plenty of food! The main course being grilled fish — apparently one of Law's go-to's — and onigiri with and without picked plum packed into it. There's flaky, delicious Sfogliatelle collected by dear Viv, as well as a candied fruit on sticks: Tanghulu! And of course, there is a hefty container with an oddly glowing substance, one which has Newton's sloppy handwriting on it: ENERGON, DO NOT DRINK UNLESS BIG METAL MAN. Finally, maybe much to the Doctor's delight, there are Capri Suns kept in coolers, ready and waiting to go. Especially all manner of 'red kind'.

As for activities, there are a few to choose from. Some are much more enjoyably quiet than others: there's painting areas with canvases set up, with acrylic paints. Alina may or may not have inspired that one. Oh! And the basket-weaving table. Yeah, you heard him; a basket weaving table. Andy likes weaving baskets, so it shall be done. Knitting supplies cover one table as well, and all come with some beginners books... just in case anyone wants to scratch the itch and try a hobby they've never bothered with before.

Of course, there are some... bigger items in the room. Especially, there is a pool table on one side of the mess hall, fully stocked with pool balls and cues. Dean Winchester's little touches, y'know? Newton admittedly also was very hype for the pool table. And... wait, what's this? Just a little something dedicated to Finn — in one corner of the room, with neon, flashy lights and a groovy beat... Oh... Oh no...

When did that get there?????

[OOC: As usual, feel free to mingle and post your own little top levels!]
