He gives a shrug as if to say you've got a point when she speaks of him not always knowing how to get down to the metro tunnels; when she keeps speaking, he laughs, once, harshly.
"I don't. This fucking piece of shit planet's doomed no matter what we do. But —" he pauses, the vocoder that automatically twists his voice turning it into something like gravel.
"Don't talk like you know shit about the Hare or the Fox. Hare's soft, but Fox always knew to look at the bigger picture. If there's a real chance you might sell us out to the government — you think she'd hesitate?"
He turns, as if listening to something. Then, the dead eyes of the mask looking back at Ziggy, he taps his temple and it disappears, leaving Emry's mis-matched eyes staring at her.
"I meant what I said. I don't care about the revolution. But the Fox saved my life and I'm gonna fight this crusade to the end. At least the government and that piece of human waste they call the mayor will get what's coming to them. Look, Stardust. You wanna help the people? You want a cause? Feel good about yourself? I don't really care what it is, but the fact you made it down here says something... and you got spunk. I'm gonna give you a choice."
With a flick of his hand, he points behind her in the tunnels.
"You run back there, go back to the streets, do what you can, and wait for the call. Or," this time he nods towards the heavy door behind him, "you stay here. Once you do, we ain't letting you out there until everyone's sure you can be trusted. But it's a place to stay, out of the streets. Shit to do here, too. So, what's it gonna be?"
