[ It's easier than he expects, fighting alongside someone who has natural leadership vibes the way Andy does. So used to going it alone in every fight, he expects their advance on the kaiju to require a little adapting on his part, but it's nothing like that at all.
Maybe it's their compatibility, or maybe it's that Andy genuinely makes for an awesome leader, but he falls into place, attacking the kaiju from his side while she hacks away at it from hers. They are in sync, as far as he's concerned, and he can't help but admire the skill with which she strikes β there's strength and focus and a little bit of that thrill that comes from the physical exertion and he tries to mirror it in kind (just, you know, adding a little of his own flair).
They continue to attack from their vantage points while some of the other orbers meet the kaiju from elsewhere. It takes some doing but Shang-chi thinks they're getting somewhere at least β right up until the creature goes for a different tactic, separating the fighters from each other. But he'll pick up the fight again until he's caught up in helping one of the others, or when Newt catches his attention.

(They were supposed to stop him, right?) ]
