[Newt's head snaps to the side, fist glancing off his chin as pain blossoms into what will undoubtedly be a nasty bruise in the coming days — the creatures in Newton's head ignore it for the moment, however, especially since they had dropped their dagger. They instead reach over to jam their fingers into the gash they'd made in Peter's side, and then lash out with a foot to throw him backward to the floor with what training Yzak had given Newton.
Better to not stick around, they think, and launch themselves back to to their feet to begin fleeing backward toward the front of the train once more; they've got their grip on the phaser once again, and fire madly toward where Peter had last been.
Watch out, Pete — you can't afford any additional holes in your body, you know?
What's worse: if Peter fires back or attempts to launch a new attack, the talisman in Newton's hand will launch a terribly large burst of energy right back at the Guardian. It would be a real shame if you ended up shot out of the train through a new gap made in the wall, wouldn't it?]
