He's just grateful for it, really. And yeah, he doesn't need the warning to know that he has to get off of the alien before he ends up under him. There's a good clearing on the ground and he aims towards it as he pushes himself off the bandit, knees curled up and ready to land on his side and roll over, only to be surprised when he feels Itachi catching him and considerably cushioning his fall. ]
