jim's voice came from high up — the second floor? but without having ever been in this building, he can't take unnecessary risks regarding anything he can't immediately feel his way around. he hears a thud to his left as jim's weapon strikes one of their enemies, and assured that direction is safest he steps towards it, finding the fallen bouldersnake with one foot. he hauls the body — dead or unconscious, he does not have time to check — up to use as a shield, angled towards breathing he can hear.
to jim, via their earpiece: give me a video feed of what you see. Running will likely not be an option. he may not be able to see, but the earpieces broadcast in the mind. he can adjust, and this is no time to be prideful. ）
