（ itachi — and susano'o itself — steps over newt immediately, holding the mirror — the avatar blocks out the light, and the severance of the weapon's connection to the sun is immediate and absolute. as soon as he's certain the fire is out, susano'o dissipates in a crackle of red chakra. he crouches down beside newt, a soft glow of blue chakra enveloping one hand as he reaches out to cover the leg, hovering rather than touching directly. newt does not know him for a healer — and he is by no means a strong one — but he will be able to make the pain abate somewhat.
