You wish for a world with fewer children who have grown up like you. Unless you are killing them to reduce their numbers （ hey, he's met people for whom that logic would hold true, he doesn't say it with judgement or concern ） then it is possible what you envision is a world where so cruel a fate is obsolete. That, to me, is a form of peace.
