Can't imagine us without that. That's part of what makes people relatable, at least for those of us who can't feel emotions. Gotta let on what we're thinking and feeling more directly.

[But he's contemplative as he says so. It's a skill in his line of work to falsify emotions, or sometimes more simply to hide them. Having people like the Mu around would make his job a lot harder. Having everyone's feelings so dampened that they're less obviously broadcasted would too, but worse, it would make for a world that he can only think of as... dry. Dull. He might hide his feelings most of the time, but he loves the richness of emotion, and the range of experience.]

Why's it like that, where you're from? What's that compliance for?
